Singer-songwriter, Pat Benetar, has been on the rock music scene since her start in 1970’s. After turning down a chance to attend the prestigious Julliard School, Benetar quit her job and decided she was going to pursue a career in music that she was more inspired by. After appearing at an amateur night in 1975, she met her soon to be manager, Rick Newman, and her career took off from there. Pat Benetar released her debut album, In the Head of the Night in 1979, and it was the start of her prominent status within the rock music scene. She received her first Grammy Award in 1980 for Best Female Rock Performance. Throughout her career, Benetar received a total of four Grammy Awards and released 12 albums.

Pat Benetar currently remains one of music's top-selling female artists, which is evident as she was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, in 2008. Throughout her career, she has been at the top of the charts with hit songs such as "Love Is a Battlefield", "We Belong", and "Hit Me with Your Best Shot".

REO Speedwagon is a mid-western American rock band, originally formed in the late 60’s. They started as a cover band, playing at events and bars on college campuses. In 1970, Gary Richrath was brought on board as the guitarist of the band, which brought a new style of guitar and level of skill to the band. One year later, the band signed with EPIC records and released their eponymous first album. Throughout the rest of the 1970’s REO Speedwagon would keep building up a fan base until their 1980 release, Hi Infidelity. Hi Infidelity included their number one hit song “Keep on Loving You” and their staple song “Take It on the Run”. They kept this momentum throughout the early and mid 1980’s.
