Pure Prairie League

Officially formed in 1970, Pure Prairie League was one of the first bands to perform the Country-Rock genre of music. Only two years later, the band would release their second album Bustin’ Out.  Bustin’ Out would include their hit song, Amie. Due to the arrest of the lead singer, Craig Fuller, and RCA dropping the band from its label, it took Amie two years to make its way onto the charts.  Amie would go on to reach #27 on the charts and the re-release of Bustin’ Out, would reach #34.  RCA would also go on to re-sign the band. In 1975, the band would release their third album, Two Lane Highway.  It included guest spots from Chet Atkins, Don Felder of The Eagles, and Emmylou Harris.

In 1979, a new lineup of Pure Prairie League would develop and would introduce the world to future country superstar Vince Gill. The band recorded Can’t Hold Back, which would be the last album released by RCA. In 1980, the band would release the album, Just Fly, which included the song, Let Me Love You Tonight.  Let Me Love You Tonight would chart #10 in the U.S., becoming their highest charting song. Vince Gill left in 1982 to pursue his own solo career and the rest of the band would dissolve in 1988. Pure Prairie League would get back together ten years later in 1998 but would only stay active until 2002. In 2004, we once again saw Pure Prairie League return from hiatus and they have been back ever since. In 2005, they released the album All in Good Time.
